Just trying to spread the word to people in PORTLAND who read my blog about a new art exhibition opportunity. This is being run by a good old friend of mine, Jerry the Priest, who is looking to make a difference in the Portland art scene:

WE ARE SEEKING OBJECTS–large-to-small–single-to-collections
(e.g. a single room’s-worth) OF ANY AND EVERY STRIPE, wall-mounted, free-standing, etc. with a special interest in knitted, woven or otherwise loomed objects, wearable or otherwise. Yes, there are podiums for smaller sculptures. NO, we don’t want anything messy or fluid.

ONE (1) of your objects will be auctioned off (donated outright) at a
minimum bid of $20. The rest can be sold at whatever price you set,
with the stipulation that 20% of the sale will go to the October 22nd Collective (a Women’s Reproductive Health non-profit) and 30% (negotiable, negotiable, negotiable) will go to the vendor (6708 Gallery), leaving 50% (or more) of total sales to you, the artist.
The art will remain in the gallery for a month-long run, ending Saturday, Dember 18th, 2010. Any work unclaimed by our closing date
will revert automaticaaly to the 6708 Gallery for our own resale and reuse (just wanna have that clear).
