So near my office there is an older art deco building, it is an historic monument and today the film crew trucks were all around and extras and actors mingling about in 1920s garb. Walked past this and on the corner there is white burlap sandbags and rock salt on the curbs and New York City cabs… it is another film shoot set in contemporary New York.

So and hour later I am waiting on a corner two blocks away for my girlfriend to pick me up (because our normal meeting place is blocked by film crew trucks)… and here is a lone film crew guy with walkie talkie… nobody around, just him and me on a corner as people enter and exit a restaurant. I ask him which of the two films he is working on, New York in the 20s on Olive Street or New York in the Winter on sixth street and he says "New York in Autumn on Figueroa." Then he jumps toward the restaurant door, says "She’s coming" into the walkie talkie and walks ahead of a couple toward a van that was parked at the curb – I did not catch the starlet – a petite blonde – but a guy got her into the van and the walkie talkie guy was already putting the transport into gear to drive the two blocks to Figueroa Avenue, aka Manhattan.
