So on Saturday there is an opening party for the new
LEIGH SALGADO ART EXHIBITION at Bergamot Station
She is showing in the project room at Patricia Correia Gallery – the one up front with a large glass window.
The opening is from 5 – 8 p.m. Saturday January 13 and runs thru March 3rd.
It is a lot of new work presented as a cohesive installation.
The thing I like about the Correia Gallery besides them being cool people and taking a chance on art by mixing it up all the time, is that they have a tamale kitchen set up outside to feed everyone fresh tamales for real cheap. So then people get a good quick dinner and then maintain a more interesting, conversant buzz during the party. In between making sales, the people at the galelry throw a good party.
Also showing is Jose Lozano who I wrote a big essay about for Art Scene Magazine.
At Bergamot on Saturday afternon, there is also a booksigning at Copro/Nason Gallery for their just-published Catalogue RaisonnĂ©, which I reviewed in the new issue of Coagula – it is a cool sort of LowBrow bible.
Looks like Bergamot is the place to be on Saturday!
